Donelan: Wine is a Jourey Not a Destination 2010 Cuvee Moriah 2010 Cuvee Moriah

A blend of 54% Grenache, 26% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre fermented with an average of 50% whole cluster. By adding a steep, hillside Mourvedre vineyard into the fold we were able to further complement the complexity of the Dry Stack Vineyard Grenache. In 2010 the Grenache spice and herb de provence characters are plentiful but balanced by lovely red-fruit characters. Mourvedre added more cherry notes along with an additional earthiness and savory component.

The barrels of Syrah were selected specifically to add a bit of depth and length all the while preserving the wonderful Grenache/Mourvedre raspberry and thyme notes. A wonderful wine with food because of its fleshy suppleness, and light, red fruit character the wine is also structured to develop over time. Savory elements such as fennel and oregano arise from a delicious wine that has a long, fresh supple finish.
