Donelan: Wine is a Jourey Not a Destination 2008 Cuvee Moriah 2008 Cuvee Moriah

Losing our Mourvedre and Counoise to smoke problems in the Sonoma county vineyard, we created this blend from Grenache (66%) and Syrah (34%) in 2008. The Grenache, fermented 100% whole cluster, provides herbs de provenance, raspberry, and kirsch flavors. Additionally it provides the skeleton of the wine with its crisp and supple mouthfeel. However after multiple blending trials we continued to enjoy the “stuffing” that adding more Syrah provided the mid-palate. Careful to preserve the Grenache character, we think we have a spectacular, fresh, supple wine that in our opinion is one of the most versatile wines we offer for the table. Truly a great Sonoma county wine
